CEO/Owner
Ron has worked in the employee benefit brokerage and consulting business for 30+ years, designing and implementing employer-sponsored health insurance plans for large private businesses, public entities, and non-profit organizations. He specializes in self-funding, benefit design and implementation, cost containment, alternative benefit strategies, forecasting, trend analysis, managed care alternatives, and compliance issues.
As the CEO/Owner of Western Benefit Solutions, Ron has lead an organization that for several years has ranked as one of the top 10 most productive Employee Benefits Brokerage Firm in the United States by the prestigious trade publication Business Insurance.
Prior to establishing WBS in 1997, Ron served as Vice President and Branch manager of Johnson & Higgins, and J&H Marsh & McLennan of Idaho. Being involved in many professional associations, Ron is a member of the National Health Underwriters Association and the Society of Financial Service Professionals-Idaho Chapter.
He actively participates in his church and community and is a former boardmember of the Regence Caring Foundation for Children, as well as currently serving on the Meridian Education Board. He has also served on the Boy Scouts of America Ore-Ida Council’s Auction committee for several years. In addition, under his leadership, WBS provides financial and staff support to several non-profit organizations.
